The Office of Student Research funds, promotes, and disseminates the scholarly work and research of IU Columbus students.
Mission
The Office of Student Research (OSR) promotes intellectual inquiry and innovation to enrich the educational experiences of students by providing support for research projects that engage them in academic scholarship that contributes in meaningful ways to communities in south central Indiana and beyond. In support of the university's mission, the OSR promotes and assists in the dissemination of scholarly works of students.
OSR students and faculty mentors contribute in meaningful ways to academic and non-academic communities in south central Indiana and beyond. Students must be the principal investigators or play an important equivalent role, and research projects may be conducted in concert with current coursework or as independent studies.
The OSR runs an ongoing program, and this year it has 10 x $1,000 grants to award to promising student research projects, which must be conducted with a faculty mentor.
