What happens if your payment doesn't go through?
If your bank does not honor your check or electronic check (eCheck), your student account will be charged a service fee. In accordance with Indiana law, the returned payment service fee is $27.50 or five percent of your payment (not to exceed $250), depending on the reason the payment is returned.
If two or more payments fail
If two or more payments are returned, you may be required to make all future payments with guaranteed funds (cashier’s check, money order, or credit card). Additional payments by check or eCheck may not be accepted.
If a payment on a past due account fails
If a payment used to remove an encumbrance that allowed you to register is returned, you will be required to make all future payments with guaranteed funds. In addition, IU reserves the right to cancel your enrollment.
