Donor-funded scholarships are made possible by generous contributions from local corporations, businesses, civic groups, alumni, private citizens, and others who want to support you as you pursue your academic and career goals.
If you meet the eligibility criteria for one or more IU Columbus donor-funded scholarships, please apply as early as possible.

Donor-funded scholarship applications are available September 1 in One.IU. Completed applications are due March 15.

The African American Fund of Bartholomew County (AAFBC), in conjunction with IU Columbus, has created a scholarship fund that will provide a student with $1000 per year for four years to attend IU Columbus provided recipients continue to meet the criteria. The criteria for the scholarship includes:

Eligibility:
The student must be an incoming freshman at IU Columbus.
Upcoming sophomore students must have a non-cumulative minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale; upcoming junior students must have a non-cumulative minimum GPA of 2.85 on a 4.0 scale; and upcoming senior students must have a non-cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
The Moravec family wants to support scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students at Indiana University Columbus who have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and financial need.
About the donor:
Tony Moravec, local business owner, philanthropist and entrepreneur, understands what it’s like to be an average student with the passion and determination to succeed. This opportunity is intended to support an annual scholarship for an undergraduate student in the athletic program at IU Columbus who has a minimum GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale and has participated in community service activities. Scholarship amounts vary.
The Reeves Foundation Scholarship support undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at IU Columbus.
About the donor:
Carl Marshall Reeves and Mildred Almen Reeves cared deeply for the community. Their legacy Foundation wishes to honor their philanthropic gifts and support for the Columbus Community.

This scholarship was established by donors who wish to honor Dr. Charles Bantz for his support of IU Columbus. This scholarship supports undergraduate scholarships for full-time or part-time students who are majoring or minoring in Communication Studies at Indiana University Columbus.

Dr. Jay Howard served as interim vice chancellor and dean at IU Columbus from 2006-09. This award was established by IU Columbus’s Board of Advisors in recognition of Dr. Howard’s contributions to the community and the university and for serving the university with excellence and distinction.

The Kristen Schildmier Scholarship is comprised of two $1,000 awards. Preference is given to IU Columbus students who have previously earned an associate’s degree from Ivy Tech.
About the donor:
Columbus residents Kenneth and Phyllis DeLap established a $40,000 endowment in honor of their granddaughter, Kristen Schildmier. Kristen is an IUPUC graduate who completed her degree in 2006. The DeLaps were inspired to make their gift after learning about the financial needs of a single working mother who became close friends with their granddaughter when both were IUPUC students.

The Marvin Rytting Scholarship supports psychology majors at IU Columbus who have already completed at least 75 credit hours toward their bachelor’s degree. The award amount is determined by the Scholarship Committee.
About the donors:
This scholarship was established by alumni and friends of IU Columbus in honor of Dr. Marvin B. Rytting, who served with distinction as associate professor of psychology for nearly 30 years. During his tenure at IUPUC, Dr. Rytting also served as assistant dean for academic affairs.

In memory of her father, the donor has a passion for creative writing and chose to set up a scholarship that supports students at IU Columbus who write creatively – poetry, non-fiction or fiction.

Dr. Marwan Wafa served as vice chancellor and dean at IUPUC from 2008 to 2015. Before joining Indiana University, Wafa was dean of the College of Business and Management at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan and dean of the School of Business & Technology at the University of Wisconsin–Parkside. In addition, he was a top administrator at the University of Southern Indiana for 14 years, serving as associate dean and director of USI’s MBA program and chair of the Department of Management and Marketing, among other positions. Dr. Wafa earned a master’s degree in management and a Ph.D. in industrial management from Clemson University and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Kuwait University.

Founded in 1919, Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. With more than 30,000 members belonging to more than 1,200 clubs in 63 countries, Zontians all over the world volunteer their time, talents, and support for scholarship programs and much more. This scholarship was established by the Columbus chapter, part of the organization’s Area 4 in Indiana.
