Yes, every student participating in the IU Columbus commencement celebration will be individually recognized as they walk across the stage. This momentous occasion will be captured by our professional photographers.
No, there are no dressing rooms and there is no secure area to leave personal items. Therefore, only bring your academic apparel and leave personal items elsewhere. We cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items.
The Commencement Celebration ceremony should last approximately 90 minutes.
No, only ceremonial apparel rented from Herff Jones will be allowed. Orders must be placed online with a credit card, and will be mailed directly to the graduate. You can keep your cap, stole and tassel, but the gown will need to be returned. The gown will need to be returned in the same box that was mailed to you. A return label will be included with your order.
Diploma covers presented during the celebration do not contain the actual diplomas. Your diploma will be mailed to you from the Office of Registrar Services after the completion of your degree audit, and assuming there are no holds on your bursar account.
Alcoholic beverages, fireworks, balloons, silly string, and signs are not permitted. Please respect your fellow graduates and refrain from bringing these items.
