The Community Outreach Committee promotes various community engagement activities for IU Columbus Staff. Some of the most notable activities are the annual ham drive for Love Chapel and the senior angel tree for residents of local nursing homes/care facilities.
The fundraising work is part of the community outreach committee and supports the activities and initiatives of staff council by engaging the IU Columbus campus community in a variety of events.
The professional development committee develops workshops which enhance the professional and personal lives of IU Columbus staff and faculty.
The social activites committee engages IU Columbus staff and faculty through weekly and monthly activities such as the coffee chat, breakfast club, Happy Hour events, as well as other special events. Staff and faculty have attended Indianapolis Indians baseball games, Indy Fuel hockey games, and Indiana Pacers and Fever basketball games.
