Crayola Colorcyle Program
The Biology Club is partnering with the Brown County Intermediate School to recycle markers through the Crayola Colorcyle Program. This program will recycle markers of any brand, not just Crayola. This includes all highlighters and dry erase markers, as well as coloring markers.
Do you have dried-up markers cluttering desks and craft rooms at home? Do you go through packages of highlighters studying for exams? Do you throw away dry erase markers on a weekly basis while teaching in the classroom? If so, you can now recycle ALL of those markers!
Look for the green Crayola ColorCycle signs! Collection boxes are located…
- In the CC building next to the red recycling bins
- In the LC building inside the library and the ARC
- In the faculty/staff copy room located on the first floor of the CC building
- Faculty: collection bags or small boxes are also being placed by the dry erase boards in classrooms in the CC building to make it easier to recycle your dry erase markers as you teach!
If you would like a box or bag placed in your office location, let us know and we would be happy to provide one!
So test those highlighters and markers and recycle any that are at the end of their life. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to engage with a community partner while improving the environment by keeping more plastic out of the landfills!
