This form is for use by IU Columbus non-business majors or non-degree seeking/temporary transfer students only. If you do not have a current IU user account and passphrase, you must first apply for admission to IU Columbus.

Students currently pursuing an IU Columbus business major or minor: Please do not use this form. Instead, contact the Division of Business at 812-348-7273 or business@iu.edu to schedule a meeting with an academic advisor.

Because of limitations on the number of seats available, and the need to offer those seats to students who are in good standing in the BS in Business degree program, the IU Columbus Division of Business provides permission to guest students (those in a different degree program, visiting from another IU campus, or non-degree-seeking) no more than three weeks prior to the start of classes. This provides opportunity for the students in the business degree program to enroll and promotes academic progress toward completion of their degree in the shortest possible timeframe. Students whose transcript, academic, and/or program status in the Student Information System (SIS) does not satisfy prerequisite or other enrollment requirements for a BUS or ECON course must seek permission from the Division office no later than four weeks prior to the start of a term.

All guest students who need permission to enroll in a BUS or ECON course must use the online request form at least four weeks prior to the start of the term. Students must have a current IU account to use the form and copies of unofficial transcripts for all prior college credit must be uploaded through the request form. International transcripts must be professionally translated prior to submission. Questions about translation services should be directed to International Admissions at 812-348-7390 or international@iu.edu.

Requests that are missing information or submitted after the deadline will be denied.

Business class permission requests received at least four weeks prior to the start of the term with all required documentation will be processed and a decision provided three weeks prior to the start of the term via the student’s IU email account. If approved, the student must register for the class using the Drop or Add Classes app in One.IU. Receiving permission does not add a student to a class or save a seat for them.
