Dr. Prater-Richwine received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University and is a licensed psychologist. She has a Master's Degree in Counseling and one in Family Studies, both from Michigan State University. She completed her undergraduate in Psychology and Sociology from Western Michigan University. After completing her doctoral internship at the Ball State University Counseling Center and her post-doctoral fellowship at Austin Peay State University Counseling Center, she was a faculty member in the Psychology Department at Indiana University East while working in private practice. She has worked in many clinical settings, such as VA hospitals, the Richmond State Hospital, community mental health, and private practice while she continued to teach a few classes at Ball State University and Earlham College. When not working, she is busy with her three children, reading all the books, binging cooking competitions and TV shows, and writing less than professional fiction. She is excited to return to a full-time faculty position working with graduate students in mental health counseling.
