The Media Launch Pad
The Media Launch Pad is a self-serve production studio with technology for faculty and students to record multimedia content. The Media Launch Pad is located on the IU Columbus Campus in the University Library.
Studio Features
Sound-isolated recording space with a green or gray background screen.
Video and audio capture for PowerPoint presentations or other media, with professional quality lighting, and microphones.
One-touch button to incorporate a variety of video overlays, and numerous record and playback capabilities.
Upload to Kaltura accounts or the ability to save to a flash drive.
A six-person computer lab for instruction and demonstration.
About the Media Launch Pad
Beginning with the initial Digital Gardeners program in Spring 2022, three fellows (Dr. Kevin Jones, Dr. Pamela Morris, and Dr. Kate Wills) had a vision to create a video production facility at IU Columbus. The goals of this studio are to enhance our teaching capabilities, develop further digital literacy, and enable digital literacy among our students. With the assistance of UITS Learning Spaces and funding from the Digital Gardeners program, the IU Columbus Media Launch Pad was opened in Fall 23.
