Center for Teaching and Learning

At the IU Columbus Center for Teaching and Learning, our mission is to support learners of all ages and those who teach them. The Center for Teaching and Learning promotes evidence-based pedagogical strategies and leading-edge technology integration.

We offer consultations and programming that enhance teaching and learning to optimize education outcomes. Our ongoing partnerships with community education providers underscore our commitment to advancing the broader educational ecosystem.

Our team excels in:
• Designing and implementing professional development programs that equip faculty and staff with instructional methodologies and technological proficiencies.
• Integrating instructional design and technology to enhance learner engagement and success.
• Identifying educational resources that enhance dynamic and adaptive learning environments.

We are dedicated to empowering educators while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning.

The CTL is housed in the Columbus Learning Center (LC), a shared building managed by the Community Education Coalition (CEC). To determine if space is available  for your meetings, workshops, conferences, training sessions, and other events contact the CEC.  

All classrooms, computer labs, and other spaces in the LC building are equipped with the following technology:  

  • Computer with Internet availability
  • Document camera 
  • Projector & Screen

University Information Technology Services (UITS) supports classroom technology and can provide additional assistance and training.
