Are you looking to change career paths into the field of education? The Division of Education at IU Columbus offers a post-baccalaureate teacher certification option that can prepare individuals with a bachelor’s degree or higher, from a regionally accredited university, to teach in the Elementary (K-6) setting.
In order to be eligible to apply for an Indiana teaching license for Elementary Education (K-6), individuals must complete a program of study, which includes courses, field experiences, and student teaching. Additionally, individuals must take and pass the appropriate licensure exams.
At IU Columbus, you will need to complete the 15 credit hours of pre-requisite courses and 48 credit hours of professional course work, field experiences, and student teaching in order to meet the program of study requirement.
Additionally, you have the option to complete a concentration or license addition concurrently with the 48 hours of professional education.
